Where it lives. Everything you write is saved in your browser's storage on this device. Your writing is not sent to our servers — except, if you choose to use the assistant, the parts it needs to answer (see below). Clearing your browser data deletes this device's copy, so export regularly.
What we measure. To learn which emails and pages bring writers in, we count a few milestones: the landing page was viewed, a project was started (and whether from the quick pilot, the wizard, an import or the sample), the first save, a review sent, a note answered, an export, a return visit. Each record holds only that milestone, the project's format, the campaign tags from the link you followed (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content) and a random visitor number. Never titles, names, script, notes, ideas or imported text. These records are sent to our server as they happen.
No training. We never use your scripts, notes or ideas to train AI models, ours or anyone else's, and we have not opted in to any provider's training programme.
The assistant. The assistant is off until you open it and agree, once per project on each device. Each message you send includes this project's bible, characters, relationships, places, outline (beats and outline scenes), ideas, the newest draft of each episode, and the notes you have received with your responses, so the assistant can help draft replies. We pass it through our server to OpenRouter, which forwards it to Google's Gemini model to write the reply. OpenRouter and Google handle it under their API terms. A reader's notes are included only after the reader returns them to you, and without the reader's name; notes still with a reader, review briefs, coverage, imported sources and older drafts are never sent. Because returned notes are someone else's words, check with your readers if they asked you to keep their notes to yourself. Projects where you agreed before this changed ask again. Our server doesn't save your messages or the replies. To enforce the daily limit it keeps only a count of messages and their cost for each day. That count is tied to your account if you're signed in. Otherwise it's tied to a one-way hash of your IP address, which changes every day. The conversation itself stays in this browser, and "New chat" clears it. The assistant never changes your work on its own. It suggests edits as cards, you choose which parts to apply, and each applied change is labelled "assistant" in your history and can be reverted.
Leaving. Export → “Whole project (JSON)” downloads the whole project, and you can open that file in ScripTao on any device. Scripts export as Fountain (plain text) and print to PDF in industry layout. No lock-in.
Readers. The reader view shows only the frozen copy you sent and your brief, and their notes stay hidden from you until they send them back. It opens in this browser only, so it is not access-controlled: anyone using this browser can open the whole project.
Accounts and sync. Not available in this version. Two tabs in the same browser don't merge: if both save at the same moment, the later one pauses saving and asks you to reload.
